One should read the entire chapter, properly translated (the NIV bible did a decent job of it in this particular case). These are the words of God Himself. (And who has greater authority -- Paul or God?)

This tells you two things: God Himself declared forgiveness of sin without blood atonement (another subject completely misunderstood by most). And it is available at any time for those who repent. Reply

You're undoubtedly referring to the founder of J4J, Moishe Rosen. Yes, he was Jewish by birth but no longer after he preached worship of a man-god. J4J was an extension of Chosen People Ministries, by "Rabbi Leopold Cohen". I have done research on him, which you have probably not. Cohen was a con artist. His real name was Itzhak Joszovics. He was convicted of embezzlement in Hungary. Immediately after conviction, he escaped to the US, where, in NY, he posed as an ordained rabbi (proven to be a lie) and conned financial supporters with his claims to the Christian church that he could convert Jews. He also illegally conned female benefactors out of land. He was convicted again in the NY courts. He was a fraud, his organization was established on a foundation of lies, and their fraudulent tactics persist to this day. I have source materials, including NY attorney statements, newspaper articles, from the time. Moishe believed in and continued the lie. Reply

Thank you for your words of support for the Jewish people. I am a convert to Judaism because I decided to study this mysterious ancient religion on my own. I always wondered, even as a young boy, how someone can die for my sins. How can I commit an unthinkable crime, such as murder, and be "saved" by belief in Jesus. No priest or pastor could ever answer these questions. When I read that Judaism is about deeds and not beliefs, I knew I had found my faith. Here's the problem, non-Jews have no opportunity to know what Judaism teaches. There are no Jewish evangelists. I realize that we don't believe in proselytizing but education would be invaluable in stemming the anti-semitism which most Christians have to some extent. Also Jews have no moral right to criticize anyone else's beliefs. Reply

As a Christian, I don't understand how you believe that most Christians are anti-semetic? I have Jewish blood and Jesus was Jewish. I don't know where this idea comes from but it is most certainly incorrect. In fact I feel like it's the opposite way around, having tried to evangelize Jews, I have experienced a rudeness and disrespect that I literally never experienced from any other people group. I was raised a Christian and experienced first hand some degree of antisemitism usually in the form of accusing the Jews of "controlling the media" and "controlling Hollywood and the banks."
I presented the verifiable history of Israel to a representative congregation of a local Episcopal Church. They immediately accused me of being "pro-Israel". What could possibly be wrong with that? Many churches, especially the Presbyterians constantly demonize Israel which eventually turns into antisemitism. The misinformed people are supporting groups whose manifestos clearly call for genocide of the Jews, no different from the Nazis. So, I've seen it first hand. You say you have tried to evangelize Jews. I think the key problem here is "evangelize". To approach someone who never expressed interest in your religion and try to lure them into believing as you do is, in my opinion, intrusive and immoral. If they ask you a question about your religion, answer it or refer them to a source who can. Ditto if they express something about your religion which is incorrect. But don't get on a soapbox. I think this applies to everyone, regardless of what their religion is. Reply

That came from Constantine's edicts which gave legal authority behind "church fathers" terrible words in the infancy of the Christian faith, after it and Judaism were separated (ironically it was seen as a sect of Judaism in the earliest days, before it spread far and wide and before the Romans visited more severe treatment on the Jewish people). I have been a Christian all my life but been extremely attracted to Jewish believes for a while. Actually, someone commented here with the name of Eliyahu. He (I think it's him) was the one the Lord used to guide me in what I was experiencing. But, the same way J4J doesn't represent Jews and are fake same goes to those Christians that dislikes Jews. Being a Christian since 1986, I never been in a Christian church where we didn't profess love and/or prayers for Israel or Jerusalem (According to the Psalms). Wolves in sheep clothing. Nothing else. It always astounds me when I see posts like that which you replied to. It is astounding the fundamental misunderstandings of Judaism that they have, and thus ironically their own faith because of it (as it was born out of Judaism, before radically transforming into something unrecognizable and radically incompatible down to the fundamentals).

But seriously, to be surprised people are offended at being told they need to convert from their faith and being presented with a, to them, polluted and watered down replacement... that is insulting to a massive degree. How can someone be shocked when they are rebuked for that?! Reply

I am sure that you mean well, but with all due respect, in Jewish Law, in order to receive atonement from HaShem when you cause damage to another person, you must first appease the one who was damaged, and you must ask for his forgiveness and receive that forgiveness.

Furthermore, there are five categories of damages in Torah Law: permanent injury, pain, expenses for medical treatment, loss of work time, and embarrassment. However, I am not sure that even the best tort attorney in the world can calculate all the damages inflicted on Jacob by Rome for the past 2,000 years!

Therefore, methinks that the best reconciliation between Rome and Jacob is for Rome to renounce idolatry and instead accept the Seven Laws of Noah. Reply
